Floating On Air

-G- When we broke up
you know brought me -B7- down
(I was) twisted and
hurting when I hit the -C- ground
(I was) black, battered and -D- blue
In a life aching for -G- you

I was analyzed, scruntinized, trama-B7-tized
When I woke up, I guess I finally rea -C- lized
With a heart broken in -D-two
Both the pieces are falling for you

And -Bm- everytime I -C- run and hide
A -G- fraid of where we've-B7- been
It -Bm- took some time, to -C- recognize that we -A- can
Love a-Cm-again

And -G- now we found each other, it's just like in novel
Some -B7- one who really cares, lightning in a bottle
I'm -Em- walking on a cloud, Baby, like I'm floating on -C- air
Drifting on back to -G- you
Summer nights,Wanting just to kiss you
And -B- every single time, Can't wait because I miss you
I'm -Em- following my heart, Loving on a wing and -C- prayer
-Cm- ooh, floating on -G- air

-G- There's no waiting now
There's no time to -B7- spare
I need to be, breathing in your atmo -C- sphere
You and me, under painted -D- moon
I'll be there, waiting for you

It -Bm- used be I'd -C- run and hide
-G- Afraid of where we've -B7- been
It -Bm- took some time, to recognize that we -Am- can
Love -Cm- again

{Chorus}
-Cm- I'm singing it -C- everywhere
-Cm- Love's taken me -D- the -E- re
{Chorus} (Up a tone)

The Bee Gees are a musical group that was originally made up of three brothers: Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. The trio were successful for most of their 40-plus years of recording music, but they had two distinct periods of exceptional success: as a pop act in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and as a foremost act of the disco music era in the late 1970s. The group sang three-part tight harmonies that were instantly recognisable; Robin's clear vibrato lead was a hallmark of their earlier hits, while Barry's R&B falsetto became their signature sound during the late 1970s and 1980s. The brothers co-wrote all of their own hits, as well as writing and producing several major hits for other artists.
Born in the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived their first few years in Chorlton, Manchester, England, then moved in the late 1950s to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, where they began their musical careers.[1] After achieving their first chart success in Australia with "Spicks and Specks" (their 12th single), they returned to the United Kingdom in January 1967 where producer Robert Stigwood began promoting them to a worldwide audience. It has been estimated that the Bee Gees' career record sales total more than 220 million,[2] making them one of the best-selling music artists of all time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997;[3] the presenter of the award to "Britain's first family of harmony" was Brian Wilson, historical leader of the Beach Boys, a "family act" also featuring three harmonising brothers.[4] The Bee Gees' Hall of Fame citation says "Only Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Garth Brooks and Paul McCartney have outsold the Bee Gees".[3]
Following Maurice's sudden death in January 2003, Barry and Robin Gibb ended the group after 45 years of activity. In 2009, however, Robin announced that he and Barry had agreed that the Bee Gees would reform and perform again.[5]

  • I love this song! I've listened to it over and over, and my Girlfriend and I just got back together after a year apart and of never even seeing each other, and this song makes me think of her every time, and helped us to reignite our love. Thank you so much!

  • @MrGamingWolf That's a wonderful story! Do you mind if I use it our promotional material?

  • Hi James. Why do you reference the BeeGee's for this song? I do not recognize this as a BeeGee's song. Is this an original song from you? I love it!

  • @jeffgrave The beegees are one of my influences.
