I would say the city itself is fairly non-redneck but once you get a little bit north that starts changing. A lot.

While there is a conservative faction to Vancouver, Obama actually won the majority of votes there in 2008. And there's increasingly more bike lanes being put all around the city, so that's an improvement. What I find weird about Vancouver is the overall unfriendly vibe. It's "nice" but unfriendly. Maybe because I came there from California. Everyone I met in the Northwest hates Californians. And I was coming from Oakland--hoo boy, talk about a maligned city...

Aw I was expecting Vancouver, BC (a place that REALLY needs to be parodied) but the lovely blonde made up for it. Btw I had no idea Vancouver, WA was actually so rightish. That's refreshing for the organic out the ass northwest lol

Hmmm; I'm originally from southern Oregon, and while funny sort of, this episode is way more like a parody of Medford than Vantucky. I live in the Arnada neighborhood and my neighbors are all pretty liberal NPR junkies ( and employees), with organic gardens...

@caraclark Episode 4 will have a little love for West Vancouver. We shot a bit this weekend in Hough. Vancouvria just rolls off the tongue better than "Vancouver east of the Lincoln neighborhoodia."
