Liberal Women Reinforce Patriarchy

Talking about consciousness raising and how liberal women on this site treat this like MRA's would. Liberal women on this site are patriarchal and reinforce the concept of 'victim' as weakness in order to perpetuate anti-feminist, anti-woman ideologies. I can't tell them apart.

They were actually putting you down for wanting to defend yourself against a crazy homeless fuck. I couldn't believe the shit they were saying. Had me constantly shaking my head.

Now as for gun ownership, there are a few things to remember. First, any weapon you have can be taken away and used against you. Secondly, if you pull out a gun you need to be ready to use it. My two cents.

@Zaimren I don't know if this guy was homeless. I DO know he was high on something. I DO know he harassed me purposefully and willfully. While it's true that ANYTHING you carry can be used as a weapon, I don't consider it a legitimate argument to counter a persons desire for defensive measures. Pulling out a gun doesn't mean you have to use it.

You should also point out that a lot of these "liberal" women are white, privileged, and upper-middle class. They don't care about women of colour or women of lower class in general - 'cuz to me, those women get it worse and are probably furthest at the receiving end of misogyny. Youtube is like a cesspool of self-absorbed "liberal" white women. As for the word liberal, it should mean being in favour of change and reform, not "I can do whatever the hell I want".

@freshasflowers exactly. This is the same problem I had with mid/upper class white women and their damn Slutwalk. We had one here in Vancouver and they had only ONE woman from my neighbourhood, which is THE hood, on their walk. The walk didn't even come to this neighbourhood because I think these women know that it's all good and dandy for them to have their supposed reclaiming but it does nothing for poor women and/or women of colour.

I thought Pixie was very brave in telling her stories of sexual harrassment, these stories me angry and it is not right that women are subjected to this kind of behaviour.

I think it is a woman's prerogative to find any means necessary as a way to defend herself. This should not be laughed off because this is a real problem that women face in society.
