West bound CSX Q349 with 7037-7059 have just exited Sand Patch tunnel and about to crest the grade. This is the highest point of the railroad. At first you just hear crickets and birds, but that will be drowned out by the sound of those old GE's. And they do sound GREAAAAT!!!! 8-12-1999Thanks for watching, jackmp294.5™

  • Doesnt CSX still use their U Boats on work trains? Sorry for the dumb question, I havent followed up on CSX's old SCL/L&N U boats in awhile.

  • Yes! The older 4 axle units do work service, and I have seen them on an occasional train. But the old big six axle units have all been retired. Thanks for looking. Jackmp294

  • @1jackdk how about now are any of the GE U-boats & B-boats in service?

  • @tartopfan Very few of the old ones. A couple of shortlines, and the LS&I still has a few they use on ore trains. Thanks for watching...

  • Well shot. Steady. Good angles. I'm not a railfan, but I appreciate the videography that goes into a good production. Nice.

  • Thanks for the complement Boss302fan! I assume you are a fan of the 69-70 Mustang Boss 302, a fine muscle car. Take care, Jackmp294

  • I am a Chessie fan, after seeing the first CSX unit in 1987, I dedicated my filming career to capture the remaining Chessie, SBD, SCL, Georgia, Family lines, C&O, B&O, CP BIG M's, etc... back between 1987 to 1998. 120 VHS tapes later, now putting them to DVD, I am glad I did that!! All worth the time back then, I am ready to call Pentrex! I cant see a Chessie SD-50 rolling through town anymore... All boring nowdays, same ol same ol, good night...
