  • <3 He reminds me of my little boy who has been diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum by two different entities including UC Davis M.I.N.D. Institute. Your son is beautiful. I would guess high functioning autism. Any luck on getting a diagnosis yet?

  • @smooshiemonster So far, he has one of those set of diagnoses that when lumped together equal autism, but I still haven't been able to get a doctor to "see" what I see. DX is ADHD, anxiety disorder, language disorder and Chronic Motor Tic Disorder...Thank you for your post :-)

  • i dont think he has autism he is answering you ?s and keeping eye contact kids with autism dont engage like he did

  • @dylandare12 In this video it is sort of hard to tell, but Thoms keeps looking at the camera, not my face. My face is positioned on the upper left of the camera and he never looks there. When I ask him to look at me, he doesn't. He briefly glances at the camera. I know it's hard to tell. I'm working on another video since he is 3 years older now. Thank you for your comment :-)

  • I will have to say that it looks to me like PDD/NOS. Watching your son on this video is strange to me because it is like watching my own son. My son is 3 years old..He has PDD/NOS. Your son's language skills seem to be okay. But, the flapping and the other stimming is definitely an issue. I wish that someone would have been honest with me about my son. Sorry to be so blunt with you about all of this but, I wish someone would have been honest with me too...Good Luck with the diagnosis.

  • @childofchrist3 I agree...I hadn't even heard the word autism until shortly before I made this video and he has been seeing therapists for his delays since he was 9 months! Nobody thought it was relevant to share their professional opinion or explain autism.

  • @IndigoCat17 I apprecate your concern, however, I would appreciate only helpful comments. To answer your question, we were visiting my sister and he chose to sit down at that desk.

  • I hate it when people post negative comments like "i dont think he has autism!" he is her child and i think she knows/sees more of his behavior and has mothers intuition because he is HER son. Unless you are a trained professional in development, please, do not act like you KNOW he doesnt have Autism. He is clearly showing some of the signs of Autism. Also to the person who posted the video, he is adroable@

  • @mssurify Do ur research Autism is a Spectrum disorder. It comes in many shapes in forms. Just because he is answering her doesn't mean he isnt autistic. What are you trying to say? That all autistic kids aren't capable of answering questions? Obviously you haven't been educated enough to answer these questions.

  • I have been observing alot of autistic children & a bright start center. From what I see in the video I would say def. High functioning autism. He displays many of the characteristics that the autistic children have; Hand and feet flapping, hand in front of face and stars at it, gets lost frequently, and he shows repetitive behavior.

  • @dylandare12 I have to disagree with you I have 2 boys with autism my oldest is severe my youngest gives great eye contact and his receptors work perfect but he cant communicate that well YET!! but your child is beautiful whatever his diagnosis. embrace it and be proud of him GOD BLESS

  • I'd say you could try to do certain things that would " force" him to react a certain way if he really is autistic.

Also did everybody in your family behave like this when they were his age?

  • It might be a very light kind of Autism, a lower lever, Sometimes he seems to be in his own world and not interested in talking to you, but the good thing that he can keep some eye contact with you and he can understand what you want.

He can even answer your questions.

I've seen a lot of Autism cases, much worse than your son.

The best thing to do is to see a doctor, I believe that your son just needs some treatment, and it wont be hard for him to be 100% normal.

  • I would go to a doctor rather than asking people on youtube :(

  • its not an autism...he is listening to you, answering you properly!!! It is not Autism.

  • Either PDD or dyspraxia
