@mare544 2. 1956 or 7. Haven't you seen Walk The Line?
3. That wasn't your question, I answered it as asked.
4. No, it's called Capitalism and we thrive on it ;D

@rodolfofariasjr 2. When did Carl perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison share a stage with Mr. Presley?
3.. You´re so Square isn´t a big rock record.
4. Rubbish. To make films about rock after other rockers, does not count!. It´s opportunism!.

@willpn100 1. He's got so many fans, broskies, he's a legend.
2. JR Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, etc.
3. (You're so square)Baby, I don't care
4. No, he didn't prefer it, he just wanted to sing when he sang, and act when he acted. That's a very reasonable choice. Of course they count, stupes.
-
@rodolfofariasjr You´ve made many mistakes.
1. Haughtiness was proper word for that attitude.
2. Will you, please, name a 50´s rocker he shared stage.
3. Will you, please, name another 50´s rock songs.
4 . He preferred acting than singing rock and roll. 2nd, & 3rd or 4th movies do not count, anymore.

@willpn100 1: He had no need to, he was famous all over anyway.
2: Shared the stage with other rockers? You mean duets? Because touring with other stars, yes, he did.
3: He sang a lot of covers, but a lot of songs were written for him. Jailhouse Rock, for instance, was. Plus, his versions were always much better.
4: His first movie wasn't his choice. He wasn't top billing in Love Me Tender, plus he didn't really want to sing, he wanted to act. His 2nd & 3rd & 4th movies were uber Rock & Roll.
-
@rodolfofariasjr That´s you opinion!, not mine. Facts are much more important. It would be interesting to analyse the matter.
Fact n. 1: Elvis never toured the world;
Fact n. 2: Elvis never shared stage with other rockers;
Fact n. 3: He was a cover versions singer;
Fact n. 4: Elvis first movie was not about rock and roll.
So that, I repeat, What kind of rocker is this?
-
@willpn100 Haley is real tuff, I'll give you that, but Elvis is just so much better. He's an icon, and a true rock & roller. Elvis surpasses pretty much ever'one. He's a king.
-
@rodolfofariasjr Bill Haley started it all in both cases movies and record sales. Everybody knows "Rock Around the Clock" (the top selling record in terms of rock and roll) ; "See You Later Alligator" and many other songs of the "Daddy of Rock and Roll". Elvis was an icon not an artist, because "rock and roll" was not his business.
This song has a special place in my heart.
