@cd99 You roll straight rights by parrying them to the inside. Examples are on the website. The purpose of this to learn the drill of moving your shoulders. Too many beginners get too caught up with trying to avoid the punch cleanly that they do it all wrong. Learn the rhythm first, application will come naturally. ;)

The hooks we're very unrealistic and you not saying how to roll straight punches.. Eg opponent throws right hand you roll left shoulder foward and counter with straight right..
Was good for start but need more indepth and realistic demo.
Bdw i do love your site tho. Spend way too much time on it lol

they dont know how to use the sholder roll. who is going to be aiming for your shoulders when they are boxing? stupid.. you tuck your chin into your shoulder to block punches and use you other hand to block your face.

@jeremiahqwe1 this is a drill to work on the timing of your deflection. The point of aiming for the shoulders is to help beginners develop the rhythm of rolling the shoulders instead of trying to cover their face.

@expertboxing ok. i understand now. sometimes i feel vulnerable with my arm at my waist and i have a tendency to raise my elbow. i ususally block straights and hooks with that, which leaves my body open. any advice?

@jeremiahqwe1 which elbow are you referring to?

I'm a southpaw, so I'm not sure how effective this will be against orthodox fighters. Thoughts? :)

@HeiLong depends on the style of both fighters really... it's not so cut and dry. I would watch videos of Floyd Mayweather and James Toney fighting southpaws to see how they use it. (of course, you would have to mirror the movements)
