It's very well done, still i think it would be a little more realistic if the explosion fire would go a little slower and if there was more deep smoke. :) But awesome job!

@nelandquinten you think you're badass there was this kid at my school always going on about how he wanted to be a terrorist. now whenever the fire alarm goes of or a plane passes over head we say-"Shit Jamal's back!"

@DetFilms That's the thing about those kinds of mistakes. You have to make them so you never do it again. Like the time I forgot my tripod for an interview and had 15 minutes to rush out to find one in Westwood and make it back in time to set up lights. Stressful.
Miniatures look better blown up if overcranked. Seems like that's why you would shoot it in 60p, but I'm not seeing the reverse telecine.

@steveyagerfilms -- yep, that's slowed to 24p from 60, believe it or not. That det cord just goes BANG! in real time it was less than a second, total. It really needed to be shot at at least 120, but my camera doesn't do that.

@DetFilms Wow. Must've been super quick.

@steveyagerfilms Oh yeah. This building was solid masonite, eight feet long. They had originally asked me to blow it up, but I'm not rated for HE, and this required the use of det cord to shatter it. I was willing to help film it though. They had a high-speed Arriflex filming as well, but kept moving it around, trying to get the best angle, and from what I understand, forgot to adjust the focus after the last move. D'oh! They ended up having to use my footage after all.

@DetFilms Ha! What a rookie mistake. Oh god, the poor camera op must've been so embarrassed.

@steveyagerfilms Embarrassed isn't the word. I thought he was going to faint. These were all students, mainly, and were amazingly professional for the most part, including this guy, but man, when he glanced through the eyepiece and saw a blur and realized a retake was out of the question, he literally went white. No doubt he is a pro now, and likely has NEVER made that mistake again. :-)
