You could glue to a case on a phone. Possibly on a hard iPad case, but it has to be strong enough to pull the microscope out. And you have to move it in and out for focus. Possible, but it has to be strong. I have put grommets on and taken them off, It can be done, but it's a pain. I have to say that the grommet never gets in the way. It does kind of bag out the leather case with my bluetooth keyboard, and I should probably widen that hole in the synthetic leather.

Why not glue the grommet to a piece of tape and then cut the center of the tape out for a not-so-permanent adaptation?
