i used to dance here through most of my high school years, back when the club was next to the wharf, this place is new ive olny danced there like 3 times...the 3 in the front used to be real krakups.lol, that kids name is Kimbo.lol...he just started when i left the club to come to New Zealand fro study. its amazing har far hes comes now with siva afi, hes way more skilled than me with doubles now...

@caseytuaau Dude, I'm Samoan and even I know that Samoans originated from either Africa (which IS the cradle of civilization) but most notably Taiwan and various p;arts of Asia. Look, I have pride in being Samoan, but we didn't just pop out of nowhere (despite Tala mai Agamua e fa'atatau ia Tagaloa). It's called research, you should try it.

true the weapon was actually a club, but with western influence, the club became the knife, and the dance was known as the siva nifo oti, most of the basic fire knife moves is actually war moves. fire was added to the knife in 1965 by chief letuli after he met asians on tour and saw them dancing with fire

the weapon was originaly a club made of wood. Firekinfe dancing is actualy quite young. It was founded by 3 dancers. But the twirling of the club is still part of the culture. the fire is new.
