I've had mine for 6 years and 5 out of those 6 years i had commercial food. It may take years for the poison to take it's toll on the crabs.

ive had hermit crabs for 4 years now, one of them has been with me for 3 and a half years, they have always had commercial food in their cage.

@hermitcrabluver yeah and theres humans that smoke for 40 years and dont get killed also 4 years wow what a fail i have hermit crabs that have been with my family 35+ years they got passed down to me and even 35 years is still a fraction of there true life span they are in a much beta home than that cheap peice of plastic
