UNC beat Towson State in the 1991 NCAA Men's Lacrosse National Championship. North Carolina scored quick and often as they began the scoring only eight seconds into the game. Towson tried to make a run in the third quarter with six goals, but would not be able to hold off the Tar Heels who won 18-13.
Would have been a much better game had Towson not lost it's best defenseman in the semifinals game against MD.

That Carolina team was one of the best ever! They were loaded and deep. Dave Klarmann was in his first season, so the whole team was composed of Willie Scroggs' players. Willie remains one of the best X&O coaches & recruiters ever. I think that Joe Breschi will turn out to be their best coach since Willie.
