Elk Creek -- Grayson County, Virginia

Elk Creek benefits from the big storm -- shot Sunday, April 17, early afternoon along Clito Road. This is the main rocky rapid section -- too tight for a canoe but perhaps a creek boat or kayak. Two kayakers entered below this stretch for the 4 mile to New River. Of that, there's a fair section of solid whitewater, levels permitting. And today, they were permitting. Kudos to Claire for steering from shotgun.
