it's in north western china(close to kazakhstan)..they're a turkic group..minority group in china..damn, these china love colonizing fellow asian countries and then claiming these countries as PROVINCES.

they're not ethnic han chinese & i can guarantee that they're definitely not speaking mandarin or any chinese dialect for that matter. they sound like they're speaking mongolian to me(cuz i was in mongolia few years ago)....china seized a lot of territory that was originally not theirs-such as tibet, east turkestan and inner mongolia...so you have native people from those lands who are now considered and treated as ethnic minorities under han chinese rule..
