  • @spider89101098 It's a ringtone featured on many HTC phones, which is where I first heard it. It may have originated elsewhere though.

  • It is good practice to cut before soldering as the mechanical stress when cutting can in rare cases damage the joint.

    Thermal compound is completely pointless on ICs with such a low TDP.

    And no, you don't use thermal compound to increase heat dissipation, it is true you get *somewhat* better dissipation but the main point is to avoid having air pockets where the heatsink does not touch the IC.

  • You could also put a thermal compound so that the heatsink will desipate the heat better.
