@doctoru2 If you read my original post you will see I said they died AFTER ATYCLB. I grew up with the band since Boy, saw them on both sides of the Atlantic, and spent $1000's on them over the years. In my opinion NLOTH is pure gobshite, as its predecessor "Atomic Bomb" or whatever the hell it was called. Music is relative to the individual; you don't have to agree with me. Its called freedom of choice....

Have you heard "No Line on the Horizon"? U2's latest has a few throwaway songs - like every U2 album - but the rest are among U2's best. Soaring Bono vocals and darker themes that are reminiscent of "Unforgettable Fire". And songs like "Moment of Surrender" rank along with classic U2.
Also, the U2 "you knew" came with ATYCLB? Really? Because that album was in 2000. The above recording was in 1989. The U2 of 2000 were hardly the same band.

@thereverendwho U2 had everything to do with writing this, since Bono wrote it....
-
@youarenotimmune Yes, this is poetry. It's just to bad that U2 had nothing to do with writing it.

This is a great version no doubt. However modern-day Bono would never sing this now out of the ridiculous fear of being "too nationalistic". The U2 I knew and loved died after the ATYCLB album, sadly....

i always knew bono was a talent if fact i see him a an poet. I love the way he sings this song with that irish emotional voice.
