Muppet Voice Comparisons - Rizzo the Rat

I don't think I ever really noticed the difference between Steve's original Rizzo and Steve's later Rizzo, until I watched this video.
Then again, Rizzo's voice evolution wasn't really as noticable as, say, Jim's early Kermit (the frog's voice was deeper during the first 20 years of his career, before The Muppet Show started), Frank's duller Fozzie voice in the Muppet Show's first season or the more grovelly-sounding voices Dave used for Gonzo in the earlier Muppet Show seasons.

Rizzo has been my favorite character too. Him and Gonzo are a great Muppet duo (As seen in The Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppet Classic Theater, Muppet Treasure Island, and Muppets From Space.)
BTW: In the Letters To Santa scene, if that was really Tyler Bunch doing Rizzo, it wasn't so good. Steve's voice for Rizzo is probably the best ever!

3:48 CRACKED UP with this sketch!! "THERE"S A RAT!!!"

Rizzo was never one of my favorite Muppet, nor did I care for any of the rat characters, but darn if he doesn't grow on you.

I could be wrong, but did Tyler also voice the Rizzo puppet in the "Aquatic Life" episode as one of Jacques crew of rats? Or was that the performer who did Linden Burgh the kiwi? I forget his name.

@NaiTaiDai Sounds like the samw thing what Steve has gone through.
-
@collgoff There's no hat on his head. And I never said it was Rizzo. I said it was the Rizzo puppet.

@brymomjay No, it was definitely the Rizzo puppet. It wasn't supposed to BE Rizzo - but it was the same puppet.
