A for effort Matt....you are amazing but this song isnt for you.
he needs to sing it in a range he is comfortable with, and not throw it out of control.
-
Matt done his best, but it's a Ripper Song.

Matt's a great vocalist, but Ripper can not be matched when it comes to vocals \m/
-
@megapurify They're both amazing singers, Ripper has a higher range but Barlow has more solid low notes
-
this shows that ripper is the superior vocalist by far. if barlow, the best iced earth singer can't handle his fill in's vocals then it;s obvious who the man is! jon you fucked up and fired ripper due to wanting to make easy money. shame on you.

@excesodestyle The Ripper sings it way way better!!!

@excesodestyle Me too!

notice how Barlow has to drink water every time in this song, on almost every live videos... this song is really pushing him to his boundaries.... it's Ripper's song, although I prefer Barlow much much more. Iced Earth's music has to have deep deep bas (or low low baritone) vocals... and Ripper just can't deliver that :( so he's great, but not for IE.... I hope Stu will have the deepness to step in Barlow's shoes on albums like Dark Saga

as much as i do perfer ripper on this song i have to say that that is one bloody epic chorus in matts lower range
Matt Barlow = Great Mid-Range, Tim Owens = Great High-Range, Stu Block = Great All-Around!

@PureTrueMetal I have the new album with Stu Block. I haven't listened to it all the way through, but from what I heard, I was impressed. And that's a good thing because when they announced Stu as the new guy, I wasn't happy at all.
