Although it was just a minor hit for Gene Pitney, "If I Didn't Have A Dime" was a major hit for Bob Collins and the Fabulous Five in the mid-60's. Recorded on the Jokers 3 label out of Greensboro, NC, this recording is a classic in the beach music archives. Bob Collins was normally the lead vocalist of this very popular Southeast fraternity party group, but lead guitarist Donny Trexler took the lead on this their biggest hit.
A genuine Carolina Recording Treasure from the four track era of the mid sixties.
Everything they attempted was brilliantly executed.
