No, I do love what Zimmer and Verbinski did the pirates soundtrack is definitely wonderful and it is one of my favorite, but the sound of this....it's like a spookie deeper version of the pirates. It was just what popped in my mind when I heard this, like a more sinister version, but with some of that drive and emotion of the movies as well. I'm not sure I can explain it well. But it was not meant to be a slam against zimmer
