A nice little project that almost everyone could use.
This will convert your rubbish mobile headset into something you will want to use! and best yet it has an inline media controller so you can pause and skip tracks without taking out your phone!

A note to the internet trolls
The button casing does not open it is completely sealed and requires a lot more effort to get into than cutting a wire would. The female 3.5mm plug is there so that you can plug different headphones in just in case the first ones you use break and you don't have to open it up again and re-solder the connections

Hope you like it!

  • ...there is a much better way that does not leave any conduct tape or shrink tubes or whatever, i have done this 100+ times to different headset, headphones, my last project was exactly like the headset you are using but i welded the htc cable(after the control buttons) directly to the speakers inside (now i have htc/Koss headset with great sound, check my video?

  • i have them headphones they suck i got them with my htc hd they where all right for a while now only one headphone works

  • I HATE COLORED ISOLATION FUCKING HARD TO CONNECT 2 WIRES.

  • cool tutorial bro.

  • @tingawinga5 you should caption the part when you are using the hot air gun its hard to hear you

  • @thaGkillah , @richogem , and @pyronathanpyro , he did that because as everyone knows headphones all break eventually so he just saved the headache instead of having to unsolder n re solder 100 times when they break he can just plug in a new pair instead of spending money on a new mic attachment because headphones are cheaper then head sets... :/

  • handy tip on the tinning of the wire! I always have trouble getting solder to stick to headphone wires

  • @richogem

sorry i don't understand what exactly you mean... your question mark makes everything weird.

  • @thaGkillah because then you have the headset for other things too?
