Marlee Matlin lost her hearing when she was an infant, but never allowed this disability to hold her back. She started acting at the age of seven, and in 1987 became the youngest performer ever to win a Best Actress Oscar, for her work in the feature film Children of a Lesser God. A four-time Emmy Award nominee, Matlin has made memorable appearances on prime time hits ranging from Seinfeld to The L Word, and competed on Dancing With the Stars. She published her autobiography I'll Scream Later in 2009, and has produced a pilot for a reality series called My Deaf Family, which can now be seen on YouTube.

  • @organicgrowngirl . She chose this guy for a reason. She knows how her interprets her. She also knows ASL is a visual language and not spoken word for word in English. He her interpreter has to interpret many words according to her signs and the story at hand. While using voice change to get the hearing to hear like she is talking instead of a monotone interpreter. She and he knows whats up! It is accessible to deaf people. Its in ASL. Their visual language. You must not be educated in the area

  • I can tell hearing make this video. You barely see her signs can!

  • oh god. a "disability".... I smell ignorance to Deaf culture

  • Why can't we see her hands speaking?? Why switch it to English for those of us who would like to 'listen' to her in her native language?? I don't get it!

  • They definitely should have showed her hands more so we could see her sign. Having to rely on the interpreter so much was a bit irritating.

  • i remember seeing her on Blues Clues!!!!

  • hi. good atfernoon.. wow..I look actess for show drame..

  • God bless Marlee. She keeps it real. I'm a fan! And Jack the interpreter is wonderful .

  • Beautiful! But what a foolish thing to video her without showing her hands the whole time. This should celebrate her deafness. The publishers had no understanding of Deaf Culture.

  • Marlee Matlin te banco en todas
