Leo - Ludovico Einaudi

This song is taken from the album "Una Mattina" by Einaudi. It's a perfect exemple of the composer's minimalistic music, always full of emotions and images.

The title, a diminutive of "Lion" in italian language, remindes me savana landscapes, 'thought i don't know the real why of this title. :)

Più che un diminutivo dell'italiano "leone", penso che il titolo "Leo" si riferisca a "Lĕo, leonis", termine latino di terza declinazione che indica appunto il "leone". Ma comunque, sono solo minuzie xD

@etake04 I think that it is also down to the fact that he repeats a lot of his work but if it's down to elegance and openness then I would definitely agree!

@9989126 That was my initial reaction! It's not minimalism in the strictest sense, I mean it's no Steve Reich :), but Einaudi said he viewed minimalism as 'elegance and openness' which fits..I'd say it's more about sparse and 'minimal' orchestration rather than the traditional definitions of minimalist music.
