I laughed when I first saw this scene, didn't matter what anyone else in the theatre was doing, after some tense dialog it was just hilarious when BB loses it! That and his Herman Munster laugh.

It's an interesting display of sociology. Many people will laugh if everyone else laughs - they take their cues from the crowd, not what they think. That's what makes this so disturbing - you see it's wrong, but the social part of your brain is telling you to follow the crowd.
