  • Hi there Bill, a much better flint striker is about 2 1/2 inches of hacksaw blade, the smooth edge not the tooth side. Wrap about an inch of one end with a couple of turns of electrical tape and your good to go. This works much nicer and you don't mess up your knife edge... Have a good day... the bigguy...

  • Who is the knifemaker that made that large fixed blade?

  • One more thgin Bill, if you push down hard and go slow you cna use the spine of your knife for the firesteel so you don't dull the edge...Just a good tip...

  • Looks like you guys had fun, whas that a couple you met online? or regular freinds going out camping with you guys? Just wondering, anyway the flint and steel is my favorite primitive way to make fire!!!!
