That's what I mean. It was supposed to be in the movie, but they cut it out. DE-LE-TED scenes, figured it out yet? This has nothing to do with the two sequels.

They kiss in the first book "His hads, still clasping her head, tensed suddenly adn drew her toward him in a passionate kiss" ,right after Roger dies and before he goes into the other world.

Unfortunatley it seems like they aren't: because of low budget intake from the Golden Compass, they weren't able to make the Subtle Knife, let alone the Amber Spyglass (of course) The other thing is, it would be harder for the cast, because Dakota Scott, who played Lyra, is now (I'm not sure) 14/15/16, and it would be incredibly hard for New Line to find a girl similiar to Dakota, no matter how much make up and special FX they do. But it would be amazing.

they were all from Northern Lights. The other two books will NOT be made into films...yet. i would not think that one of the greatest series in literature (yes im saying it) will not get made because of the church! To be honest, there have been more shoking films than that of His Dark Materials

@Anyu31 Untrue, Dakota who plays Lyra can still do it if it's done properly. I remember watching a film that had a 12 year old girl in it, the original actress was 15 at the time.

I really wish they would make a sequel but wouldn't Lyra (Dakota Blue Richards) be to old? Then again they should do it anyway because Phillip Pullman's Dark Materials were some of the most entertaining books I've ever read. >:( Pfft and I hope they don't F it up either if they did.

they need to make the 2nd movie! they don't want to just cuz of religious controversy and people didn't see the first. but they left it on a cliffy, they can't do that! plus I wanna see Will

it would be too late for them to make it now. The girl that played Lyra would be too old for the role as the child she is in the Golden Compass. I wish they would make the other movies. The Dark Materials series is so wonderful
