Yeah the market tends to even itself out (with respect to wages). So, when Wal-Mart comes to town & pays 30% less than local small businesses in wages, & they account for, say, 50% of the employed in said little town. Now they are a major factor in what the "market" says wages should be for said jobs, hence suppressed wages.

What happens when you make less money, it's worth less (inflation)?

Now my numbers are straight out of my ass, that is true, but it illustrates the poblem quite well.

If you do not like Wal-Mart wages and insurance do not work for Wal-mart. This is a free country find work somewhere else. Do not whine because Wal-mart does not pay high wages. Any retail store I have worked for have roughly the same pay scale. The way out of this is to go to Wal-mart and tell them you are willing to pay double if the pay doubles otherwise wale up and get off Wal-mart's back.
If you are Union ask the union to open their own stores and leave mine alone. Long live freedom!

Debbie Shank, a 52-year old former Wal-Mart employee (& mother of a soldier killed in Iraq) who suffered serious brain damage after getting hit by a truck was subsequently sued by Wal-Mart to recover $470k in medical expenses. Shank had won a substantial settlement from the trucking company &, after legal fees, took home $417k. Only thanks to Keith Olbermann's "World's Worst" expose of Wal-Mart's vile behavior were they shamed into dropping the case. They're corporate scumbags of the worst kind.

America has a free market right?! What is the FUCKING deal with the fact the competition cannot handle wal-mart??

I do agree on the fact that wal-mart (as far as I know) treats its workers as shit!! It's just sad!

America is Free. Anyone can do business in Ameica the way they want. WalMart do not force anyone to work for them or shop at. do not like to work at Walmart? Just Quit.find a different well paid Job. do not like to shop these cheap Chinese products at WalMart, shop these cheap chinese products at Target or KMart or any other store. do not simply complaint. Quit WalMart if you are not happy with it. Stop shop at Walmart if you do not shop at WalMart.

I don't like walmart however I agree with you one hundred percent.. if you don't like something don't stand by and scream oh me.. do something.. I don't shop at walmart if I can help it... however due to the fact that walmart kills smaller businesses if I wish to get certain products i must go there ... like it was said don't shop or work there
