True duals on an inline 6

True duals with walker high flow cats on a 96 f150 with the 300 six. It takes on a completely different sound when its under a load.

if it is fuel injected then all you need is to have the first cat removed and run 2 separate pipes.

just so all you non educated people know. A ford 300 ci. six has two exhaust manifolds. 3 cylinders each. They run into a two into one cat. I just cut mine off so i could run my TRUE duals. Educate yourself a little before commenting

Corbed models had a 6 cylinder into 1 outlet manifold. The Electronically Fuel Injected 300's had two separate 3 into 1 outlet manifolds, so 2 oulets. It it very possible to run true duals with ANY 300 with the EFI manifolds.

@XxRUNTY for the mileage, better starting ability, and better power. my dad told me once the best thing he ever did to his '77 Corvette (and he swapped the motor, built up the new one, swapped the tranny, 4.11 gears, and so on and so forth) was put Holley Pro-jection on it.

Once the RPMs get up, It's got that six cylinder carbureted european sports-car buzz and crackle! My wife's '62 falcon does that sometimes. It's got a 3 on the tree, and I love the sound of downshifting.

I also have true duals out the front of each tire at a 45 sounds nastier than any v8 will ever sound!

@THEREBELFORD u wont loose horsepower running true duals with now cats, as long as u run a muffler on both pipes. i have a 95 f150 with the same 300 6 efi motor and i have true duals going to 2 separate flowmaster super 40s with turn downs and it end right at the cab line, it gave me a lot more power and sounds close to a 302 motor

@jpatt1000 yeah i cant explain the sound. i ended up removing the duals and running a single straight pipe on the passenger. it was too damn loud with my window down(i had them turned out before the tires).i have a video of my current setup on my page

@ford300runner My 74 Datsun is similar. I hav a 3 into one header. 1,3 & 5 go into one collector, 2,4 & 6 go into the other. then two pipes out the back with glasspacks about halfway down and Supertrapps at the tips. Very cool sound! Why do inline 6's sound different than V-6's? I have a Fiero with the same displacement as my 260Z (2.8L) but the just sound totally dfferent!
