Thanks dude. I did it and it worked.

And also if you do my krazy glue tip, make sure everything is lined up right that you camera faces forward as there wont be any give for the bolt to turn. It is a downside but for me I'd rather not have to use any wrenches/keys in order to turn the bolt to get my camera off every time.

A suggestion - using krazy glue helps. I noticed trying to get the camera back off resulted in the bolt spinning around, so first I glued the washer around the hole I made. Then I added glue to the bottom of the washer and to the threads of the bolt. I would put the pieces together first and mark where the threads start outside of the hat and be sure to NOT put glue on that area. So the washer is glued to the hat, the bolt head to the washer and only the threads that are in the bill of the hat.

Dude...I went to Lowe's and got the stuff for under 50 cents and just used one of the hats I already had and it came out great. Thanks a bunch for posting this. Adding a suggestion following this comment....

use a little tripod base instead of screwing the camera straight it. That would give you a quick release and maybe some aiming options. And remember to strap that hat on real tight cause it'll be front loaded.. Wet cam = dead cam LOL. Nice vid tho, I'm gonna try this out I think.
Just to let everyone know. SKIBUM never did send me a hatcam to test drive like he promised he would so as far as I can tell this hatcam is most likely equal to or better then anything he offers, and 100% cheaper.

Each camcorder has a different stopping point which makes the hatcams from hatcams. com even better. It allows you to screw a knob up tight to the camcorder so it stays in a forward facing position. Also much sturdier.
