no dude... firefighters dont have training for such high buildings... second of all if its hot enough to melt steel, do you know how how that is? About 30 times more than what it takes to burn skin and flesh. And the planes were full of jet fuel which burns at a very high temp. The plane hit at an angle so the staircases were cut. The firefighters were just evacuating bottom floors. Its all they could do.

The bigggest pain in-the-butt were trying to get the many stretchers up the steep stairs since the stairwell is VERY narrow and many doors were locked hindering progress that would otherwise allow more access.
(The door to the roof was locked which is why nobody was on the roof for a dramatic helicopter rescue on either towers)
Pretty much it was a *if it can go wrong it will go wrong* moment for those brave firefighters.

What if the people didn't panic and decided to brave the fire (which was not really that hot)?
Contractors and engineers say that the kind of fire that happened would have had to burn several more hours out of control before even half the steel was melted thru and most of the flames shot outwards not in going pfffffffffffffft.
From the transcribes I read the firefighters had the fires pretty much under control and was just a high rise fire call to them which they are trained for.

Propaganda commentating. The Jet fuel didnt shoot down the elevator shaft. They had safety cut offs in case of fires. If you watch the original footage, the people coming out were saying bombs went off in the lobby.
3:16 the fireman and youtube viewers are hearing a bomb going off, that is why they look. Watch the original video.
