  • Hi Jimmy,

When you mix your paints, did you add turpentine or another medium? Was the point to make it workable or fast drying or both? Thanks you and have a great day!

  • Goodeye, I use paint thinner for my medium because it dries the quickest. I also mix everything with Alkyd white for the same reason. My technique requires the underlying layers to be dry and the current layer to have a several hour workability window. This also gives you the option of wiping off to the preceding layer either for detailing or a redo.

  • Welcome Back!!

I think I am not the only one that has missed you very much... I have learned a lot from you, and you have inspired me to paint again.

Having my first exhibit in October - you will be part of it in my heart.

  • thanks Cristina and good luck with the show!!

  • Thank you, I will be in Las Olas art festival, with a mixture of excitement and dread... Iam almost done, I am finishing a 48 x 72 painting of a street tango orchestra, looking good, I will send u a picture as soon as i am done. needed to ask you, in beached whaler you used a marker to delineate something, and it did not bleed and u could see it through the oil, what kind of a market was it? It would come handy I have a huge rolling door that is driving me crazy, a marker would help.
