My Chickens

We have two chickens. My kids have named them Babs and Ginger, not that one of them is ginger. We got them in September 2005 and both have been laying eggs throughout the winter. Babs is a Light Sussex and Ginger a French Maran. They live in a Coop and pen at the top of the garden but wander the whole garden most days when we let them.

The chickens are pretty much hassle free, clean out once a week and check the food and water every day is about it.

There great to watch, pecking around, and help relieve the stress after a long day at work.

I have an infrared chicken cam set up in the coop but it is turned off at the moment. Will be turning it back on for the autumn and winter.

aww they're beautiful. they both look very healthy and well looked-after. my three chickens were killed by a fox in september, it was very sad :(

This video was taken in Aug 2006. They haven't changed much. They have a good life, better than most Chickens I expect. Managed to keep them from the Foxes by closing the pen when it starts to go dark. Its great in the summer, sitting out watching them wander.

I have uploaded a video of my three chickens. They are not fully grown, but should start laying eggs this September. My video is MUCH less noisey than this one. Great job maisondeau on creating this lovely video of Babs and Ginger. I really enjoyed it. And congradulations on the fantastic number of veiws!

I'm gonna get chickens :D I would never even think about slaughtering one for just a little meal. I'd rather keep eating their eggs than their meat :D

i don't name my chicks cause there are 2 boys and 2 girls XD I'll hopfully name them

my white plymouth rock chickens are named Shake -and- Bake,, and they make nearly 2 times these chickens noise.. amagin that..omg
