The thing about "The Magic Flute" is that everything is overshadowed by the 2 blockbuster Queen of the Night arias. This is one of Mozart's most poingant works and Dame Te Kanawa sang it beautifully.

There are other beautiful voices out there, other dedicated musicians, but Dame Kiri makes each role and each song her own inb a way that beggars understanding adn analysis. The others should just hang up their gloves, really. Sye is not only u8nsurpassable but unequalable. I have had the fortune of meeting her a couple of times and let me assure you that she is anything but unapproachable. Divinity on earth.

Amazing. I've said it once, and I shall say it again. She is absolutely marvelous. Her intonation is superb, her German is wonderful, her interpretation...incredible, and her technique is absolutely sublime and amazing. One of my favorite Soprano's if not my favorite all together. Thank you so much for showing this to me again and for reminding me of how wonderful she is.
