Eastern Block: Iran oil fuels Tiger's appetite

Israel has rebuffed all warnings against striking Iran, which have been consistently coming from the international community. The country's foreign minister says it's Israel's business alone over whether to carry out an attack.

Tel Aviv suspects Iran's atomic activities have military purposes, repeatedly saying there's a need for a pre-emptive strike. But its Western allies haven't backed the idea, saying tough economic sanctions against Tehran need time to work. However there are growing doubts over the effectiveness of penalties.

And this is why the US is interested in Iran.

Aquiring that oil supply, even indirectly by a supportive new regime, is a huge ammount of financial pressure they can then put on India and China. Don't like the US suggested reforms? Won't give benificial trade rights to the US? Oil supply cut, weakening both India and China.

This is just the stranglehold that USA needs on the other emerging superpowers.

Ridiculous, why this never ending hostility? War war war, power power power.

Iran does not have the ability to sink a carrier. Being unified is extremely important. US has the strongest* military and the strongest economy. The middle class/poor people might be going broke - but the US government has acquired enough gold, oil and assets to improve the top 1% in the US - in other words, the rich have gotten much richer. The US is getting wealthier and stronger every day. Most of the world is just too stupid to see it. These wars are very profitable !

You underestimate Iran's capabilities. If US goes to war with Iran, it will be the strongest (excluding USSR) nation it faced sins WW2. Iran is well equipped and will strike back. Iran has many anti ship missiles including the soviet SS-N-22 Sunburn which, if hits an aircraft carrier, can sink it. What if Iran stressfully sinks all 3 aircraft carriers? This war would be disastrous for not only Iran and US but also for the rest of the world.

I'm just saying I'm absolutely positive Iran would be crushed by the united states alone, but at what cost? How many lives? It's totally NOT worth it. Too many good men and women serve in the US military and I wouldn't want to see anymore children losing parent (or visa versa) in battle over seas. We should out-smart the whole "conventional war" concept and really show our intellectual patriotism.
