  • probably a stupid question, but how do you play with the hi hat so low? you know, your standard rock beat. I'd be constantly hitting my sticks together and using my left ARM to do the motion, and no wrist. In fact I did that all the time in my old videos...awful to watch. I'm ranting. Cool video

  • @MarkRiches not a stupid question at all. With the seat raised up so that I am above the drums my right arm has more reach. So I reach farther around the hi hat and actually get my angle from above rather then from below. With my right arm forward my left arm can play in traditional without many problems. When I was learning drums from my teacher we worked on getting powerful strokes without much lift, so my rock beats still pop without much force.

  • Thanks! Neat stuff. 13 people can not appreciate a good effort to share knowledge.

  • @5bisley I know right? Idk what I did that forced them down the dreaded path of dislike... lol. Thanks!

  • ah btw dont u put too much pressure on the hihat with the feet?sounds kinda choked to me but im no way trying to criticise im obviously much worse and old xD

    could be the bad record

    see u :)

  • @blapis89 idk, the camera was very close and I'm in a room with 45 degree ceilings (loftish) lol. The drum battle videos have the same hi hats in the auditorium. They may sound better there.

  • hot AND talented xD

  • hello, great video! thanks. do you have a video on the left hand push pull you did at the end? i'm having a lot of trouble finding a good tutorial on it! thanks, great drumming!

  • Thanks, great video! How do you practice that one handed left hand roll that you did at the end? Very impressive. By the way, I believe the first thing you played was not triplets but actually 8th or 16th notes grouped into 3's. I could tell by the way you evened it out at the end. But you probably know that and you're making it easier for your viewers to understand.

  • The first drummer to do this was the great Joe morello.catch some of his solo stuff here, He was one of the best.

  • McLovin????

  • nice stuff bro(-:
