Analogman Beano Boost

This is a demo/review of the Analogman Beano Boost.

The Analogman Beano Boost is a germanium boost similar to the Dallas Rangemaster used by Clapton and may others. The Beano Boost is an awesome effect for pushing valve amps into overdrive.

Check out Gearmandudes demo too it rocks.

I am by no means a pro player this review is just to give people a basic idea of the tone and range of the beano boost as they are rarely found in shops to try.

Hope some people find this is useful.

Check out a beano boost if you have a chance

Oh Dear, looks like a case of all the gear no idea!

    1) treble boosters (like the beano boost) are not designed to go in front of a clean signal, rather to boost and change the tone of the overdrive

    2) The orange tiny terror is regarded as one of the best small valve heads on the market, certainly for a classic rock tone

    3) 410 cabs, 10" speakrs are widely used by a number of boutique and highly regarded amplifier bulilders (drz cornell ect)

    learn, then comment

  • @MrBeaverReviews "The first guy was right! You have access to all those great amps behind you, and you use a shitty little "Made in China" amp??? And if that B-Boost is designed for use in conjunction with an O-D or Dist/Fuzz,why would you demo it WITHOUT one, and then try and defend yourself by saying: " it's used to boost and change the TONE of the OVERDRIVE"! I am NOT a fan of ANALOGMAN, I am a fan of the Beano-Boost, and you most definitely CAN use this pedal in front of a clipping amp".

  • @axeslinger013

dude, I think you are a little confused, it's designed to go in front of a breaking up or overdriving (clipping) valve amp as demoed to boost/shape the overdrive, not some transistor overdrive/fuzz pedal, the orange tiny terror may be made in china but it is far from shitty in terms of tone,

just out of interest what amp would you prefer?

  • Hey there, my amp settings are on clean but gain is cranked up. Can i use a booster in front of it just to give a bit more gain without really overdriving it?

  • @mashugac If you have a tube amp then adding a beano boost will probably overdrive it, If you have a solid state amp then it probably wont sound too great, I would try a 'clean boost' pedal

  • i'm trying to figure out how to make my beano boost not pickup up radio

  • Thumbs up for the pixies ;)

  • this shit is out of phase, the voice is in the left speaker only..... in spite of that, I think this box might be quite good!!

  • actually, the trebleboost into a solid state amp sounds pretty good.especially a hybrid half tube half solid state.

    ex:judas priest guitar sound.

  • Would this pedal work with a Vox AC15C1?

  • the tiny terror+ the beano sounds incredible. And right on for playing some Pixies!

  • @MrBeaverReviews

Sorry Beaver - the sounds really terrible! But the miking might have to do with it for sure.

The playing could be more inspired too, u don't have to be a guitarhero to do a nice video - but please at least make some takes of stuff u play at your best. There are sections much nicer to listen to then some of it. Never the less i think u are on the right track and i am sure there are some pretty nice videos to come!

  • @MrBeaverReviews Exactly this. From Clapton to Cannibal Corpse, boost is used to enhance and expand the drive of an amp. Reading the comments here it surprises me how many people obviously dump hundreds of dollars on pedals they don't understand. Great tube sound, especially on those open Pixies chords.
