Glenn I must say I have watch you for a while and you are wrong on the pensions for public employees especially the firefighters. For the most part, yes the emergency workers in the country do get to retire at a younger age just like our military. They are not just some fat guy as you state, they are people who go to work every day knowing that they may never return home just so that your family can enjoy some sense of safety in the community.

@MantraD313 Yes, Capitalism is based on competition, and I say HOORAY. Life is not "fair" nor does it owe you anything. So that's where our fundamental difference is.

we can agree on not supporting business and government in bed together. corporations can use the police to enforce their own ends with the facade of justice and government can be controled and bought out, as well as manipulating the market to their own ends. but capitalism is a system of competition. naturally, the most greedy and psychopathic of us will come out on top. it perpetuates mankinds greatest flaws while making us forget humility and modesty: where we learn the most about ourselves.
-
@MantraD313 You are confusing Capitalism and Free Market principals with crony Capitalism. I am not a supporter of Big Business and Big Government getting in bed together, and we need to fight and extinguish it where and when we find it, but I still believe that Capitalism and the Free Market are the best economic systems ever devised. I certainly don't want to swap them for socialism or the so-called "State Capitalism" they are now calling China. It's a ruse, it's really National Socialism.

you obviously don't know just how corrupt and twisted almost the entire majority of the corporate world is because you get every little piece of your information from this clown. but do some research. it goes WAY beyond a little bit of greed. well, a lot of greed. these companies are doing things that are just plain evil all over the world. you can't just take a job, thank them for paying you, and not question these things. that's what you're programed to do. the truth is out there. go find it.

There is a bigger picture than the fact that your taxes went up a little. MUCH bigger. If you take a step back, you just might see a piece of it.
i hate living in a world where i cannot escape advertising and market schemes everywhere i turn. you can't hide from it or ignore it. anywhere you turn there's someone telling you that buying this or that will fill some hole in your life, and that we should think and act a certain way. there are corporate hired lobyists and psychologiest conducting studies on how to better get into our heads and keep us consuming. i can't live like that, even if it DOES work. i'm sorry.

@MantraD313 Competition is very healthy, and it is responsible for most of our great inventions, and break-throughs. How sad that you want to throw all that away.

i DON'T want to throw away future great inventions and break-throughs. sure, many have resulted from competition (like the bomb). that's inevitable. but just as many have come through cooperation and the drive for a common well-being of our people. to assume i don't care about human discovery because of one aspect of ourselves i question isn't fair. i just think there are better ways that don't involve turning us into sheep and throwing away very beautiful pieces of ourselves in the process.

@MantraD313 I completely disagree with you. There is healthy competition even among colleagues. You're trying to promote a utopia. Nice idea, but it'll never happen in reality. The world you want is full of sheep, you need to re-examine that. Utopias only work in the movies.
