Ayrton Senna - Adriane and Memories - Interview

Interview. Adriane Galisteu talks about Senna and his family.
Ayrton Senna was a millionair, famous, mature man, best pilot ever known and very religious.
Adriane Galisteu was 19 years old, she was not rich, she was a non famous model, her father died when she was 15 and she started to help her mother to pay the bills with the money she used to get modeling. Her brother was a drug addicted. She used to love to take pictures, to be on TV, to be famous and to look beautiful: she was a model and still a young girl.
For Senna family she was not good for Ayrton. They were very religious and privite people to accept a person like Adriane, who always loved to show up. Did she loved him? Wasn´t her too young to love a 33-year-old man? Wasn´t her only intersted in his money? Wasn´t her trying to get famous when she accepted to date him?
She says she loved him. For a young girl like her, coming from such a messed up family, Ayrton was a dream comming true. She lost the male figure in her life at a very young age. Her father died when she was 15, her brother couldn´t represent a stable male figure because he was drug addicted and got AIDS. Her golden boyfriend, probably sent by angels to her life, died one year later they started to date:on May, first, 1994. And her brother died in 1995.

So... did she love him? Was her just seeking money? Well... Ayrton Senna was already 33 years old and he chosed her. He knew what he was doing. He was the older person in this relationship. He was the one who invited her to parties, to go out, to get inside his house... If he chosed her, if he was happy at her side, it´s probably because she also loved him back. And she said: "very deeply".

After his death she used the fact that she was the last girlfriend to get rich: she took pictures for Playboy magazine (and everybody wanted to see what Ayrton Senna used to see in his bed), she did a soap opera, she became a interviewer for TV. Well: that´s what she always have been --- a model and a person who loves to show up. But let´s remember she had a brother who was dying of AIDS and she had to pay the bills. And she was alone, with no Ayrton support or money to help her.

And let´s remember she is a nice girl. If she wasn´t nice, why would Ayrton decide to choose her as his girlfriend?!

Although it is well known that Ayrton´s family recorded (in audio)Adriane´s phone calls to show them to Ayrton, in order to persuade him to break up with her, and Ayrton´s brother showed this tape to Ayrton at the night before his death... what really made him sad in the days befere his death was Barrichelo´s crash and mainly Ratzenberger death. And he was not happy with the car and the Williams team. The steering column killed him.

it was apalling behaviour from Leonardo? to do that, upset your brother even further than all the suffering he was already going through, religious or not this was the mid 1990's Ayrton and Adriane were happy to talk to previous partners.

Yes, Leonardo did it. Probably because his father asked him to do it. (Probably, because that we don´t know). I think it was apalling behaviour too, and also did Ayrton. He argued with his brother and didn´t want to listen to the tape. Only after a long argument, he decided to listen to it. (Leonardo and the family thought they were trying to help. They didn´t rely on Adriane) It was the night before his death.

@videoq2008 if this is true why would anyone do this to anyone who was about to race a dangerous car. We don't let friends drive on the road when they are upset because it is just too dangerous so why do this?

@ayrtonforlife Don't forget that someone's feelings can change after a tragic moment (eg. death of a loved one) My understanding is that Ayrton was a forgiving person and wanted a stable life with his wife. Of course, Adriane was young back then and she is more mature now.

@dbrinkm1 In reply to the question about Victoria. Years after Ayrton’s passing his family gave their DNA samples which a judge sent to 3 different labs. All the results confirmed that there isn’t even the slightest possibility that Ayrton fathered Victoria. It amazes me that this ugly rumour persists. He always wanted to be a father and would never have turned his back on Victoria if she were his child. He said this himself when the rumour first surfaced after the child s birth.

videoq, what tape are you referring to ? I hv no doubt that Aryton's family thought Adriane to be a "loose"woman and not a suitable marriage partner for their son. I doubt if Aryton would hv married her had he lived(guessig here) Interesting to note that Adriane thought that Aryton was the father of Victoria. What do U think about all of this?
