Thanks for that lesson Carol! Wow what I would give to have half of her knowledge on the Bass.

Carol is a class act, and her advice to me in several short e-mails improved my playing and sound more than 30 years of lessons and study. Her available lessons are w/o peer IMO.

Play with a pick...don't play with a pick..who cares? When you've played on as many records as she has you can make your video and not play with a pick. By the way..I wrote her a fan letter once and she not only wrote me back but told me a ton of cool stories about people she worked with. VERY nice.

@55mrj I can't believe this comment got 18 thumbs up *shrug*. Don't you think she'd prefer you'd ASKED her for lessons rather than beg? That's almost implying that she's a narcissist. It seems to me she's pretty much a down to earth person that enjoys what she does. "bass has traditionally been in the "man's world", but I'll make room for Carol anytime." Guess what, someone did that in a meaningful way back the 50s, that's why we know of her today.

@BitchFunkband It's a bass GUITAR. Using a pick is perfectly acceptable. Fingerstyle, pickstyle, slap, whatever. They're all just tools to use. Any technique that is acceptable for guitar is acceptable for bass. If it sounds good, it is good. Carol sounds good.

@BitchFunkband Everything is good if it sounds good, so don't think the pick is bad in this case.

good bassist but pick? :o

You cant go wrong with Carol's advice. Most who pick on her do not know what they are talking about. She is very friendly and is agreat person to caht with.I have learned alot from her
I wish people would not pick on Carol. Her knowledge and ability speaks for itself.
She is simply one of the best players, period! Sure, bass has traditionally been in the "man's world", but I'll make room for Carol anytime.
By the way, her instruction methods did more for me than years at a music conservatory. If she lived anywhere near me, I'd beg her for lessons.
