This video shows how to make a small tube smoke candle using potassium nitrate (KNO3) and sugar. Don't breathe the smoke! At the very least it will make you cough....

I'll be remaking this video at some point in the future after I've tested the ingredients and methods further.

  • Yes, someone has already asked this before me.............is there a shelf life once you made the thing, can I store the smoke bomb in it's tube for a week, fortnight, month, etc, will it still work as well or not at all?

  • @trancehi I'm just guessing, but I would say it's got the same shelf life as like.... a lollipop. Or something like that. Sugar never really goes off. I'm guessing it would last over a year at least.

If someone else knows better please correct me.

  • hey, i was wondering if i use dark brown sugar or light brown sugar would make more smoke than white sugar?

  • @Familyguy3193 haven't tried, but i doubt it....

sugar is fuel, KNO3 causes smoke.

so unless the chemicals in brown sugar that make it brown do something interesting in there.... I expect they would just make the smoke darker.

  • If you put food coloring in the mixture will it cause the smoke to be that color

  • @outlawabyss2010 I've seen this food coloring idea thrown around a bit, but the general consensus is that it doesn't work. I'm considering making a video about weather it works once and for all. You can get stuff called smoke dye and i know that works, but I'm not sure where to get it from locally.

  • @omgacat520 So you can throw it in someone's house and kill them? Jk ;P

  • The fast cooking looks like Sims.

  • If the Smoke is Toxic why make it?!

  • @111anakin111 you dont even need to cook it mix all powders together as per usual put dont even heat it. Ive done it so much and it works just as good (if not better)

  • Do u have to cook it outside or can u cook inside with windows open?

  • @MikyMaDNeSs i always use 60-40-6. KNO3=60 sucrus=40 sodium bicarbonate=6. I have used this ratio lots and has never failed.

  • You need more tape wrapped around the bomb.

  • @stumpodeath once the mixture cools it becomes very hygroscopic (readily soaks up moisture) so you could either vacuum-pack it, which is what i do with my propellent, or you could put it in some sort of desiccator, which would be the best option. If you just leave it out in the open the smoke bomb will soak up moisture from the air and will not perform as well or even at all depending on the moisture content, so if you leave it in the tube for more than a week it probably wont work.

  • hey how much potassium nitrate is in stump remover?
