  • can this be the right tempo? it seems pretty slow. my high school (habersham central) will be playing this this year.

your percussion and band arent together on this by the way

  • @Moonfrost214

The pit is way off yes. We did have our issues...but all High School bands have issues. We are not a drum corp....lol

As for tempo - we marched it at about 166-170.....real tempo for the show is 180. So yes, it was a tad slow. Also, it was 8 years ago... O.o things are different now. Marching band is a lot bigger and more important in band programs than they were in the past.

  • Ah we're playing The Rise and Fall of Rome this year(Will be our 70th year in a row for 1st division, hopefully. This is the second longest streak in the state of Texas :D). The mallet part is really, and I mean this, REALLY easy, so they're having to give us tam tam parts and all this crap. What was the rating given for this performance? If you don't mind me asking, that is.

  • We got division 1.

Cleburne had a huge record like that too.. we celebrated our 70th division 1 back in 2006..but our band kinda died..so that streak came to a sad end in 2007

  • the break drum can never get it right

  • My dad was one of the drum majors for this show!!! WOOT!!

  • now i know where our band director got the idea for all our visuals in our version of this show for this year

  • @gentsitpunk lol, I was in the pit for this as well. It was my Sophmore year.

  • i remember this show. It was so much fun... yeah, the pit always had problems. Problem child of the band, it got stuck with the people who weren't generally good enough to make the drumline. :(

Anyway, this was an amazing show and our color guard was top notch. Oh memories... thanks for posting this Spike423 :)

  • It's so weird watching other bands do this show hahaha. You guys preformed it really well, and I liked how the second movement isnt deathly slow (like ours is haha) and I am AMAZED at how good your color guard looked! Now if only I could get our guard to look like that...

  • love the visuals, yes our pit had trouble with this one too but all of our pit members are great

  • @spike423

Yeah the pit was definitely off. I take the blame for this, as I was the section leader (that is if this is the 2003 show). We has mostly freshman this year in the pit. We pulled it together towards the mid though. LOL yeah this is totally my year. Just heard a parent yell at a friend after a solo.

  • @spike423 Yeah our freshman year was bad but we put this band back together and are starting the streak again. The the bad this year will be going for the fourth in a row. I'm glad our class went out with a bang with Rhythms of a City.

  • pretty beast. (:

My high school is doing this show this year too.
