The place of the Battle of Lexington that started the War of Independence. The monument of the Minuteman is there, and the Buckman Tavern, where the militiamen of Lexington were gathered when Paul Revere rode to prevent the folks about the arrival of the British troops. A house (of Munroe) was witness to the battle. The place remained known as the Battle Green.
