Video taken BEFORE Toyota decided to extend warranty. Amazing the power of owners getting the word out.

**From original description**
Toyota Sienna drivers side door weld failures on 2004-2007 vehicles. Most vehicles seem to fail just outside of warranty. Toyota refuses to address this problem and take responsibility to fix it.

  • Where is your website? Is it no longer active? Thanks! There are over 3,000 Toyota owners who want Mr. Lentz to take note of their dissatisfaction. We wonder if he will regain their trust as he claims publicly he wants to do.

  • @autoresearcher There is a backup of the original site at sites.google.com/site/toyotasiennadefects/

  • toyota makes their ads seem like their cars are so reliable and they are not. just look up there problems online that they hide and many people dont know about them.

ill take my ford anyday! ill take any domestic for that matter.

  • My '04 Toyota Sienna passenger door fell off today. This is serious stuff. And guess what- the warranty just ran out.

This is pretty scary -especially with the kids inside. No, they did not cover the $900. labor costs.

  • I have a 2004 with 140k miles. no such problems. I think this boils down to assembly and/or parts supplier thats been inconsistent. I love my van and will continue to buy Toyota's. I wish they were still made in Japan though. I also have a 91 Cressida with 256k miles on its original engine and transmission.

  • Make them in Japan. There will be no problems. Toyota designs very reliable quality cars but the domestic suppliers or assembly is not as good as Japan. So far my 07 has 90k trouble free miles. At least there is no danger in the door stop. Unlike Fords suspension that likes to rollover when a tire blows.

  • just happened to us.......drivers side door weld....just like the video.....4 months outside of warranty.....Toyota says... they are not willing to help

door $1875 plus labor....looks like the bean counters are running toyota

  • Have this problem also again. They had fixed it kinda before. Been a good van. Run flats biggest problem(worn out in 20,000 miles/ one set ----yes really) and huge huge cost cost(2004 sienna awd) but finally got smart and put regular tires on it. thanks for the video

  • i have this problem too(2004). Been much better than any Ford, Dodge I have owned by far. Thanks for your post

  • toyota used to build decent little cars but not today, I will never trust my family's safety to a toyota, NEVER

  • I have 280,000km on my 04'Sienna and it's been the most reliable vehicle I have ever had. Just replace altenator, and that clicking noise just started happening now. Other than that, no problems at all. Starts everytime, and it gets cold up here in Toronto in the winters.

  • i think its only a 30 dollar part, but the labour is extensive.

  • this is toyota, not ford. amount of things that fail in american made cars within 37 months is much greater than japanese made. (no i am not japanese)

  • Yep, thats what you get when you have Japanese cars made with components from other countries like Mexico. Come on Toyota! Just make em' in Japan, because it's just better quality!
