An incredible piece of hot rod art and subject of the Revell model, "The Sizzler" was famed drag racer Tony Nancy's foray into the most dangerous drag class of it's time: AA/Fuel. Today this 1970's era drag classic is prepped and ready to race onto the block on August 14 at RM Auctions Sports & Classics of Monterey at the Portola Plaza Hotel in Monterey, CA. Tony always had a first class appearing and running car. You would have expected nothing less from him, he was first class as a person.

The side "wings" were a sign of the time. By '71 and '72 front engine fuelers were just about passe, the wings were a desperate attempt to keep FED's competitive. I followed drag racing, in SoCal, beginning in 1963 and can tell you that this top fuel car, in its' day, was as strong as could be found. I remember Tony's 22Jr. ~ back around 1963-64, with the wedge Mopar. It wasn't all that much but THIS car, with the 426 "Elephant" Motor, was super strong.
