--It's in response to your statement "That is not what the founders meant by 'a standing army'." We've had armies before to protect the USA. A stading army is one that remains in existence during peacetime. And we have kept our army going even before mondern times. But if a standing army is our enemy, you'd thinkg at least one of the Founders would have dissolved it during peacetime. Do you not understand the things you write or discuss?

In the Constitution the military is under the leadership of the President. It says nothing about dissolving the military once a crisis is over.

Citizens of the united States of America defended their life, liberty and property against the Crown. That is not what the founders meant by 'a standing army'.

The fedgov was supposed to do what the people's constitution limited them to do, as all power was originally delegated to the States. I didn't think you believed the fedgov should be involved in everything we do, and I'm not accusing you.

The fedgov has been out of the people's control for years. They'll be a virtual police state soon.

The federal government is there to speak for all of us internationally instead of 50 separate nations speaking. It's also there to make interstate commerce smooth & easy & fair.

I agree these are the two most main tasks of our federal government. You're mistaken if you think I believe our government should be involved in everything we do.
