  • @Roots2k. Thanks a million for the upload. Was living in Nigeria when a friend recorded a Tony Williams show where Asher & Smiley did this song Live and Direct. So to see this video here just took me back 25 years with tears in my eyes I write this.

    I grew in the slums of Lagos listening to Smiley, Tippa an de whole saxon crew and they gave me hope that one day I would be someone. So sad. R . I. P David Emmanuel aka Smiley Culture

  • This is a terrible loss and my prayers are with the family. I grew up in SE18 and left in 1981, so I followed Smiley, Asher and Saxon from the USA and it breaks my heart to know that he's no longer with us...i hope the truth comes out and soon.
