Bruce is returning in May so we'll see Diana's reaction and maybe DC might actually make Batman and wonder woman a couple. But then again it probably won't happen.

It is referencing Superman's death, but it's not from that time period. That image is from Justice League of America #0, which was published a few years ago and collected in Justice League of America: The Lightning Saga.
