Visited Fort Pickens May, 17, 2009. The road has been rebuilt and is open to bicycles and walkers. It is 5.5 miles from the parking lot to the campground. The road is closed M-F, 8-5 because construction is still underway. There is no electricity or hot water but the showers and toilets are working. Six campsites were occupied Saturday.
