no, but the gases are very slightly toxic, it's never enough to kill you until the air is actually turning brown, which it doesnt

The water in the skin of the grape is superheated, it burns the skin making a small spark/flame. This flame is then excited by the microwaves which increaces its temperature, producing the reactants to fully combust making the plasma ball. Plasma = fire
