Twilight is a bad scientist. She displays confirmation bias and special pleading. The pinkie sense should be accepted because it has a statistically significant track record of success, with 100% of the predictions coming true. Sure, the mechanism by which it works is unknown, but the same could be said for Twilight's magic.

This was an episode I had trouble with as well, but, after giving it some thought, I realized that Twilight was being unscientific. She was so focused on trying to prove her hypothesis that she was willing to ignore measurable statistical evidence. Even though there was no explanation for Pinkie's ability, it was an observable phenomenon and that should have warranted more credibility. The level of bias Twilight had was counter-productive to the scientific method.

Even though this episode does advocate fallacious thinking, I would still share it with my kids because I wouldn't want to censor them from things. However I would try my best to explain to them in simple terms that they should be skeptical about everything. And that when they encounter things they can't explain, the first thing we should do is question and use reason and logical thinking, not jump to belief.

Where the hell are the religious comments coming from? I thought the message was lighten up or trust your friends abilities or some shit cant be explained or pinkie pie is the most impossible to understand ponie.

why is there so much greek/roman mythology in a childrens show about ponies?

Y'know, you guys are wrong on all accounts with the hidden message in this episode.
The message is that no matter how hard you try, you will NEVER be able to understand Pinkie. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER.
That's FOUR EVERS.
That's like forever.
Wow really? This is pretty much teaching illogical thinking, and anti-atheism. Really? This is in a kids show?

@mattmun12 It's more trying to say that even if you can't logically explain something, it's not inherently false, if I recall. It being a lesson about religion is something a lot of people have picked up instead, myself included.
